This manufacturer of steel fencing has senior draughtsmen creating detailed drawings for the factory shop floor to create bespoke steel gates.   A single drawing can take 4 or more hours to create.

 

The drawing office was a bottle neck in the production process and good draughtsmen prepared to handle such repetitive tasks are difficult to find.

 

This automated drawing system handles 90% of all drawings from a handful of data points - an entire drawing set is created in less than 10 minutes.

 

 

 

Not only does this save huge amounts of time, the creation of drawings can now be handled by anybody in the office, even while online with the customer.  

 

It has also meant the senior draughtsmen can now concentrate on the more interesting, challenging jobs.  They are freed up from the mundane tasks.

 

As well the automated drawings, the system also creates a complete bill of materials based on recipe costing for production of the finished gates.

 

Not only is the job fully costed, it inspects the current stock levels, allocates stock items to this job and warns when stock components need to be made.

 

This was not a short project, putting all the pieces together took over 6 months.
